Postman

For more years than I can remember I have knitted.Taught by my Mum at an early age, I have tried my hand at most things.
As knitted garments went out of fashion I started to knit character dolls and toys, most of the patterns I use are either Jean Greenhowe or Alan Dart.
The one I knitted for Kemsing Post Office is the Hedgehog Postman and he is permanently on display. There are many more characters I would like to share with you so do come back and look for character updates.

A Real Character

Margaret Douglas-Graham 20.08.1933 - 04.05.2006

There are many in the village who knew Miss Graham (as she liked to be called!!)
We only knew her for a few years but in that time built quite a rapport with her.
A very independent lady, the one thing she loved was animals, especially cats. Her one dread was leaving her cat with nobody to care for it.
We could go on forever about Margaret, a real character and we all miss her striding through the village wielding her stick.

My First Blog

I am completely new to this so I am going to start by giving a bit of history about our Post Office.

Kemsing Post Office has been about for a long time, as far as we know, it probably was in existence before 1900. It came to its present location, 1 St Ediths Road, Kemsing, in 1939.
