Pumpkin Man

Autumn is well and truly here, the colours have, and still are, fantastic, evenings are drawing in and halloween is looming.
When I saw this pattern for Jack O' Lantern, (fondly known by us as 'Pumpkin Man') I had to make him. His big fat smiling face would cheer any gloomy day.
Christmas will be upon us before we know it, do come back and see what we have for Christmas characters.
Postman

For more years than I can remember I have knitted.Taught by my Mum at an early age, I have tried my hand at most things.
As knitted garments went out of fashion I started to knit character dolls and toys, most of the patterns I use are either Jean Greenhowe or Alan Dart.
The one I knitted for Kemsing Post Office is the Hedgehog Postman and he is permanently on display. There are many more characters I would like to share with you so do come back and look for character updates.
My First Blog

I am completely new to this so I am going to start by giving a bit of history about our Post Office.

Kemsing Post Office has been about for a long time, as far as we know, it probably was in existence before 1900. It came to its present location, 1 St Ediths Road, Kemsing, in 1939. It must have been really strange as there was no counter as such, you stood outside and were served through the window. It was in an extension on the side of the house but it is now in what was the main living room of the house. The part of the extension that was the Post Office is now Carols, a hairdresser, the other half is our kitchen. The house is really nice, it was built as part of a pair in 1745.

Thats part 1, I will add more each day if I get the time.
