Pumpkin Man

October 29, 2010
Autumn is well and truly here, the colours have, and still are, fantastic, evenings are drawing in and halloween is looming.
When I saw this pattern for Jack O' Lantern, (fondly known by us as 'Pumpkin Man') I had to make him. His big fat smiling face would cheer any gloomy day.
Christmas will be upon us before we know it, do come back and see what we have for Christmas characters.

As knitted garments went out of fashion I started to knit character dolls and toys, most of the patterns I use are either Jean Greenhowe or Alan Dart.
The one I knitted for Kemsing Post Office is the Hedgehog Postman and he is permanently on display. There are many more characters I would like to share with you so do come back and look for character updates.

A Real Character

August 5, 2010

There are many in the village who knew Miss Graham (as she liked to be called!!)
We only knew her for a few years but in that time built quite a rapport with her.
A very independent lady, the one thing she loved was animals, especially cats. Her one dread was leaving her cat with nobody to care for it.
We could go on forever about Margaret, a real character and we all miss her striding through the village wielding her stick.
